Language and culture

Language:

In terms of linguistic regionalism, both Aryan and Dravidian influences are observed in the region. The language of Charyapad, the oldest exemplar of the Bengali language, has considerable similarities with the language of the region. Even Baru Chandidash's analysis of Sri Krishna Kirtan shows that many of the words used in the book are the vernacular of the region. Such as - Buhara, Ghishi, Beshwar etc. The people of this region speak mixed regional dialects.

Education and Culture:

In the ancient times, there was no such practice of education among the common people. However, there was a practice of Veda Upanishad-centered education among the rural Burmans. Before the British intervention, there was a practice of education through home-centered tol maktabs in the Thakurgaon region. Basically, the expansion of education in this area began during the British rule.
